New PowerMix Installed In Test Center
Bill Alhofen, Product Manager today announced the installation of a new Model PDM 2 Laboratory PowerMix in the Hauppauge NY, Test and Development Center. The PowerMix is used for the mixing of high viscosity materials that benefit from a combination of low and high speed agitation. The unit combines a high sped disperser with a planetary mixer, both revolve on their axis while at the same time revolving on a common axis. Each agitator is provided with independent speed controls. The PDM Model is also available with a new range of optional features including sanitary designs and special benches. The Lab PowerMix is available in 1/2, 2, 4 and 5 gallon sizes. Most units are supplied for vacuum operation and include jackets for heating and cooling. many options are available to tailor a mixer for your specific production needs. The new mixer includes several design enhancements. All components are shrouded for safety and to enhance the overall look of the unit. Included as standard features are many components that were once offered as optional features: - Hydraulic lifts that raise and lower the mix can to the mix and discharge positions - Self contained control panel, single point hook-up - Multiple agitator designs - Expanded speed range, constant torque drive - Many new safety features such as two handed raise and lower controls - Close tolerance mix can/hood registration and close stirrer/can clearances
